ANR Bee Program Final Program Ready!

ANR final program: pdf

Pre-Registeration Form: pdf

Message from MBA President last night:

Dear Members:
I have attached two PDF files for your information and action. First is the final draft of the two-day program. There are a few?? things I would like to point out in the program. First, Dr. Dewey Caron, Professor Emeritus University of Delaware and author of two books basic to beekeeping, will be our keynote speaker each morning.
??
Second, there will be a microscope class both Friday and Saturday afternoons. Each 2-hour class is separate and costs $50. Dr. Larry Connor will be teaching this course, and you will be examiningt various parts of the honey bee, worker and queen, (maybe drone) both inside and outside of the bee. Should be an interesting class.
??
Additionally , there will be a one-man play by Marc Hoffman, of Maryland, on three periods in the life of L.L. Langstroth, the inventor of the movable-comb hive. I saw the play about a year ago in California and it is well worth going to see. The play will be performed at 4:30 p.m. on Friday afternoon and is free to all registered participants. Since 2010 is the bicentennial of Langstroth’s birth it is fitting that we give him some recognition.
??
There are many new break-out sessions this year, yet several basic programs that fit a new beekeeper’s needs. We have brought artist and beekeeper Melissa Hronkin from the Upper Peninsula to give us a session on Encaustic painting. Look the program over I think you will see lots to bring you to East Lansing on March 12th and 13th.
??
The vendor area will, again, be in the Lincoln Room and will be open from 8-4:30 each day.
??
We hope to have a Silent Auction again this year and if you have items that you could donate for this auction please bring them to the meeting.
??
I have also attached a pre-registration form so that you can be registered and not have to stand in line on Friday morning of the conference.
??
